Pizza that Tops the Charts in Sacramento, CA

Pizza that Tops the Charts in Sacramento, CA

Pizza is a popular food, but its quality may vary widely depending on the cook; some people like their crust thick and chewy, while others want it thin and crispy. Some purists would frown upon replacing the traditional tomato sauce with something else, like barbecue or ranch, while other people could swear by it. It’s fortunate that Sacramento is home to a variety of excellent pizzerias. These are the five top pizza places in the neighbourhood.

    The World Famous Masullo Pizza

Artisan pizzas are baked in a classic wood-burning oven at 800 degrees Fahrenheit and served immediately at Masullo Pizza, a little eatery with a community vibe. The original thin-crust Neapolitan-style pizzas here are made with a fermented sourdough crust and award-winning Frate Sole extra virgin olive oil from nearby Woodland. Both the Gilda (with mozzarella, fontina, olives, red onion, garlic, parsley, and anchovy persillade), and the Eileen (with mozzarella, crimini mushrooms, bacon, cream, sage, and black pepper) are fan favourites.

    It’s a OneSpeed Pizza

OneSpeed Pizza, a Sacramento institution and participant in the farm-to-fork movement, sources its ingredients from nearby farms including Del Rio Botanical and Soil Born Farms and Guinda’s Full Belly Farm. Butternut squash, greens, shitake mushrooms, preserved tomatoes, sheep’s milk cheese, and herbed ricotta may all be found in dishes like the Garden Pie. Pizzas may be made with a variety of toppings, including buffalo mozzarella, egg, arugula, mushrooms, anchovies, pepperoni, Italian sausage, prosciutto, pancetta, and smoky ham.

    Steaming hot Italian

Friends The first restaurant in California that welcomes bicyclists is Andrea Lepore and Fabrizio Cercatore’s pizza. Hot Italian’s dough is let to rise for two days before it’s used, creating a fluffy, thin crust with the perfect amount of crunch. In addition to ordering the Magnini, which has smoked salmon, fresh dill, mozzarella, and mascarpone, don’t forget to ask for some of the pepper-infused olive oil. A variety of creative toppings are employed, so keep an eye out for things like dried cranberries, candied walnuts, garbanzo beans, and pumpkin seeds.

    Delicious Pizza Made by Zelda

In its 35 years of operation since its 1978 founding, Zelda’s Gourmet Pizza in Sacramento has always remained true to its hometown’s authentic pizza. Mostly illuminated by candlelight and fairy lights, the interior is gloomy and warm while yet being full of charm. Zelda’s is known for its distinctive Chicago-style deep-dish pizza with an abundance of toppings. The Spinoccoli, which omits the tomato sauce in favour of broccoli, spinach, tomato slices, feta, mozzarella, and cheddar, is perhaps the most ordered dish.

    Pizza Rock

Tony Gemignani, the creator of Pizza Rock and winner of a ridiculous number of pizza awards (including the first American to win the World Pizza Cup), is responsible for the concept. There is more variety in preparation method and presentation here than at any other Sacramento restaurant. Pizzas from the Napoletana range are baked in a wood-fired Cirigliano Forni oven, those from the Romana range in an Italian electric brick oven by Cuppone, and those from the Sicilian range in a gas brick oven by Marsal.
